The Deafinitely Youth theatre are busy rehearsing the final touches to their performance of Davey Anderson's Blackout, before they open at Stratford Circus Arts Centre this month. The production will then transfer to the Tricycle Theatre as part of the National Theatre Connections project where it will be entered into this prestigious competiton with a chance for the performance to transfer to the National Theatre. Youth Co-ordinator, Charly Arrowsmith will make her directorial debut with this production. “I chose Blackout because the text is very ambiguous. There are characters within the piece, however, they are not written in the script. It reads like a stream of consciousness, which lends itself very well to creative interpretation. This is good because we want to make the piece very visual, making it accessible to both deaf and hearing audience members."
